HD - Montezuma Quail
Description
Sorry for the wobble, but this encounter was totally unexpected and I didn't want to get out of the truck, because these birds are easily flushed. The best I could do is turn side ways in the passenger seat and shoot hand held and out the drivers side window. This one is the male, and the female was pretty well hidden in the grass. After getting what I would call docu shots, I tried for more with the tripod, but as soon as I stepped out of the truck, they went up the bank and over the hill before I could take two steps.
